Fret Saw Jig Project

While waiting for the arrival of a new scroll saw, I needed to do some fret saw work. I wanted a decent way to hold the work piece steady for the proper method of fret or coping saw cutting.

Saw a simple look online...

Created a prototype in radiata pine...

I played around with a variety of holding techniques on the workbench...I settled on a bench stop to prevent lateral movement and a Gramery hold down for secure hold.

A 6 inch UniKlamp holds the workpiece to the jig.

First work was to round off some purpleheart for a knife blank...

The work was well held for the fret saw as well as for working with a rasp.
